This free half day event aims to introduce daylighting and daylight simulation as well as exploring some advanced topics such as climate based daylight modelling. It provides an exciting mix of the fundamental theory of light, design for daylighting, daylighting and compliance, energy performance, early stage design and perspectives from the academics, consultants, engineers and the architects. Key topics such as the available software for daylight simulation, building regulations and quality assurance in simulation are discussed in a critical manner which lays the foundation for emerging metrics of daylight in building design including the Useful Daylight Illuminance (UDI). The programme will end with an open discussion on the current and future state of the art in daylight design, compliance and simulation. This event is CPD Certified.
